A finely woven piece showing precise patterning throughout, this piece shows a myriad of traditional Lao designs; horses and two-headed naga (mythical river serpents) in the borders, the "all seeing third eye" or "cosmic navel" in the center of the two panels, mythical hong birds, naga, and diamonds of flowers. The background it a true rich navy with pale old gold brocade accompanied by blue, light green, pink, and marigold accents. The side with a navy-on-navy patterning is the "man" side and the more complexly brocaded colorful side is the "woman" side.
