Naga (mythical river serpents) writhe across this shaman cloth with its sophisticated color play of deep berry red, old gold, tobacco, earthy teal and purply-grey offsetting the primarily natural-colored supplemental weft brocade designs on a black plain-weave background. The naga are crested, diamond-headed with curled tails, and two-headed with crested diamond and triangle heads, with borders of the same naga designs between stripes of flowers. The edges have been finished with flowers made from silkworm cocoons with tassels. Comes with a photo of the master dyer and designer.
